Restoration of a 1973 Bally Hi Lo Ace pinball machine is complete! This game was a recent Ormond Beach find from an old operator’s facility. It has a sticker on it that says it was originally owned by Lawson Music in Winter Haven, FL. I found the game in pretty good shape, but I had to do some hard work on the cabinet and playfield. The back glass however, looks new and is in great shape.
I had to replace 2 relays in the interior of the game and do some major work on the ball count unit. Additionally, I added new rubber on the playfield along with new bumper caps, a new ball, some new LED lights and blinking bulbs in the back board. Hi Lo Ace is ready for sale and a new home!
Hi Lo Ace is a fun single player game. Bally did a good job with their gambling theme pinballs. Well they should, as they had much more experience making the “bingo” style pinballs that were not really pinballs at all, but gambling machines in “pinball clothes”. This game has lots of playing cards on the playfield and back glass and all the fun features you would expect on 70’s era pinball. For example, three tone chimes and the great electro-mechanical sounds classic on Bally games.
